By accessing Sikh Digital Library, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.
1. User Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You agree not to upload, share, or distribute any material that infringes third‑party rights or is unlawful.
- You may not attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent security, or access data without authorisation.
- You are expected to use the library respectfully and in accordance with applicable laws.
2. Content Ownership & Intellectual Property
The books, manuscripts, and other materials made available through the library are either in the public domain, licensed under Creative Commons, posted with the permission of rights holders, or contributed by users who warrant they have the right to do so. Users retain ownership of their own reviews, comments, and contributions.
3. Copyright Infringement & DMCA Compliance
We respect intellectual property rights and respond promptly to valid DMCA takedown notices. Repeat infringers may have their accounts suspended or terminated. Please refer to our DMCA Copyright Policy for detailed procedures.
4. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive or fraudulent behaviour, or otherwise pose a risk to the library or its community. Where possible, a warning will be issued before termination.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sikh Digital Library, Gursikh Satth Media, and their contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the service. The library is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.
6. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Delhi, India.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the website. Continued use of the library after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
